A Tablet Found in My Town’s Neighborhood from 1342

Qaraqoosh 1342 A.D.

A tablet found in “St. John” Syrian Catholic Church-Mosul (Town of Baghdedeh) from the year 1342 A.D. It is actually a memorial of a dead young man. This town is known as a Syrian one, but writing found on this tablet is not Aramaic it is Arabic! There is a mystery here! It was the period after collapsing of the Abbasid’s Empire in Baghdad at 1256 by the Mongols. So the Arabic language at the Mongol time was not that active one!

Merry Christmas & Happy 2020
